Howdy,
How would I go about adding a unique serial number to each board in an order that Sierra Circuits fabricates?
For example, on the silkscreen, I have the part number and revision and a place for the serial number, but I want it to be different for each board in the order (001, 002, 003), so that I can tell them apart.

I’m looking into this. Bear with me.
Some companies are now using laser etching as a replacement for labels. Serial numbers can be part of the data etched.
Normally I would expect a label to be used instead of silkscreen. I also assume that serial numbers are usually added to assemblies more often than bare boards.

Thanks Tim,
I have always used stickers, but when I saw them printed on the silkscreen of one of our boards, I wanted to make sure that I asked.

Lucy will need to reply for Sierra specifically. My assumption is that serial numbers in silk are likely less than ideal for production runs. It all depends on equipment being used and silkscreen application methods.

Yes, our engineers will reply. Thx
We do this a lot. It gets set up at the start of a job so the customer needs to provide clear instructions. The legend printer will automatically print the sequential numbering once it’s set up.
