I’m struggling with component placement on a multi-layer PCB. How do you prioritize component placement for optimal performance and manufacturability?

I typically start with the densest, most integrated part; and using the schematic as a guide, determine where it will get the optimum signal flow and access to connectors, then proceed with it’s peripherals or the second most complex part.
